STF Vacancy Requirements

To be eligible for a position within the Special Task Force of SAPS, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Hold a valid driver’s license and possess firearm competency.
Adhere to National Instruction 18 of 2019 (Integrity Management) concerning Remunerative Work.
Successfully complete fitness and shooting evaluations.
Finish any required refresher or conversion courses.
Provide confirmation of suitability for appointment.

Rank and Employment Offers

Successful candidates will be appointed as STF Operators/Members at the rank of Warrant Officer.

The position includes a five-year contract with SAPS, with the possibility of extension based on your contributions to the force.

If you have previously held a rank of captain or higher, you may be offered an equivalent rank, subject to the availability of positions within SAPS.
